MARC BRUNKE TO DELIVER AES KEYNOTE ON AUDIO NETWORKING FOR THEATRE

Optocore founder Marc Brunke has been nominated to give a keynote address at the 139th AES Convention this month, as part of the Live Sound Expo.

Marc Brunke – Founder and Managing Director at Optocore GmbH

Taking place at the Jacob Javits Center in New York (October 29-November 1), the seminar sessions occupy three days dedicated to specific sectors, with Brunke’s presentation on (Audio) Networking For Theatertaking placeon October 30 in a day of Broadway- and theatre-focused debate. Optocore are themselves a Gold sponsor of the event, and will be exhibiting at booth #119.

Event organiser and host, Mark Frink, believes that the German inventor was a natural choice to front this forum. “Live production, and especially live theatre is hobbled by ancient infrastructure in spite of generational advances in consoles, loudspeakers and microphones. Marc Brunke literally defines this topic, owning it by dint of his technologies and his alliances [with companies such as DiGiCo and Clear-Com].”

In fact Clear-Com is one of the event sponsors and Frink was mindful that the two companies have partnered “in a theatrical marriage”. DiGiCo, another sponsor and the leading Broadway console manufacturer, is equally an Optocore partner of long standing.

“Optocore technology really spans the past, present and future of this topic, so I think the biggest challenge going forward is for departments to share theatrical infrastructure,” concluded Mark Frink.

Marc Brunke has consistently pioneered new technologies and standards, one of Optocore’s most recent being the development of MADI over Cat5 — which extends the AES10 MADI standard by allowing twisted pair Cat5 connectivity.
